p1480420 (1)What: A screening of a short film by the Justice Alliance Group will be followed by a panel discussion about the impact of the cuts in legal aid since the introduction of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 (LASPO).

The Panel
The panel will be made up of three practitioners who are highly experienced in legal aid work and as such they have direct experience of the impact of the cuts;

  • Douglas Johnson from the Equality Rights Project Sheffield Citizens Advice and Law Centre who is this years winner of the Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year award.
  • Sarah Leach – a highly experienced Family Law solicitor from Howells Solicitors who specialises in all aspects of Child Law.
  • Christine Peace – a solicitor from Howells Solicitors who is highly experienced in Criminal law work, specialising in representing young people and vulnerable clients.
